The Estepona City Council will carry out more than one hundred improvement actions in educational centers during the summer period.

In addition to the usual maintenance work, larger works are being carried out, such as the construction of two small bathrooms at the El Mar nursery school and the complete repair of the staircase area at the Ramón Lago school.

The City Council of Estepona reports that one more year, during the summer period, are undertaking more than a hundred actions for improvement, maintenance and conservation of schools in the municipality for the next school year.

The deputy mayor of the Sociocultural area, Paula Herrera, explained that work is being carried out in the 13 public schools in the city, in the Adult Center and in the five municipal nursery schools.

Among the main actions being undertaken by the municipal operational brigades, highlights the construction of two small bathrooms in a new classroom and in the transition classroom of the Nursery School El Mar.

Also, with the aim of providing new shaded areas, will undertake the installation of two pergolas in the schools García Lorca and Víctor de la Serna. Likewise, the staircase area at the Ramón Lago school will be completely repaired.

These are some examples of the work that will be executed these days and are planned during the summer period, thus avoiding inconvenience to the educational community.

In addition to these works, the operational brigades carry out other maintenance tasks in the centers, which have to do with the arrangement or preservation of furniture, locksmith work or painting in classrooms or common areas, as well as the conservation of electrical and fire protection installations.

This action plan, which began once the school year ended, is part of the work of comprehensive maintenance of schools carried out by the Consistory throughout the year, reaching over a thousand actions, added the deputy mayor of the Sociocultural area.

Herrera recalled that the conservation and improvement tasks are undertaken at the request of the schools themselves, which are those who move their needs to the City Council each school year.
