The City Council awards the works of the sixth public parking lot at 1 euro/day in El Carmen

The work will be carried out by the company Innovaciones Técnicas y Recursos Constructivos S.A. This project is subsidized by 1.4 million euros by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union-Next Generation EU.

It contemplates the creation of a square, as well as the maintenance of surface parking and road traffic.

Estepona City Council has awarded the works for the construction of the sixth public parking at a cost of 1 euro per day for the user in the vicinity of the church of Carmen.

The works will be executed by the company Innovaciones Técnicas y Recursos Constructivos S.A. A total of 16 companies applied for this public tender.

This new public parking lot will be located next to the Nuestra Señora del Carmen church and will have 322 parking spaces, which will be distributed over three subway floors. The forecast is that these parking lots will be in rotation and in property regime for those registered in the city, as it has happened with the public parking that the City Council recently executed in the Plaza del Ajedrez.

The execution period of the contract will be 20 months, once the works start.

When the works of this subway parking lot are completed, a surface parking space will be created and the current surface parking will be maintained, as well as the road traffic.

This municipal work is subsidized in the amount of 1.4 million euros by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union-Next Generation EU. The contract is worth a total of 10 million euros (including VAT).

This pioneering parking system, due to its reduced cost for the citizen, facilitates parking in the main enclaves of the city; at the same time it carries out a valuable social work, since it favors the insertion of people with disabilities.

This new public parking will become the sixth of these characteristics that will be part of the parking network deployed in the points where a greater need for parking is detected, such as those located in the San Lorenzo Avenue, in the new City Hall, in the Antonia Guerrero Square, in the Athletics Stadium and in the Chess Square.
