The City Council signs the contract for the start of the construction of the sixth public parking lot at a cost of 1 euro per day in El Carmen.

The works have been awarded to Innovaciones Técnicas y Recursos Constructivos S.A. for 10 million euros (VAT included).

This project is subsidized for an amount of 1.4 million euros by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union-Next Generation EU.

The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, and representatives of the company Innovaciones Técnicas y Recursos Constructivos S.A., have signed the contract for the construction of the sixth public parking at a cost of 1 euro per day for the user in the surroundings of the church of El Carmen.

The works, which will begin in the next few days, will be executed with an investment of 10,001,331 million euros (VAT included).

The future municipal work is subsidized for an amount of 1.4 million euros by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union-Next Generation EU.

This new public parking lot will be located next to the Nuestra Señora del Carmen church and will have 322 parking spaces distributed over three subway levels. The forecast is that these parking lots will be in rotation and in property regime for those registered in the city, as it has happened with the public parking that the City Council finished in the Plaza del Ajedrez.

The execution period of the contract will be 20 months, once the works start.

When the works of the future parking lot next to the parish of El Carmen are completed, the Consistory will create a square in the area and the current surface parking will be maintained, as well as the road traffic.

With this pioneering parking system for its reduced cost for the citizen, parking is facilitated in the main enclaves of the city, while carrying out a valuable social work, as it favors the integration of people with disabilities.

This new public parking will become the sixth of these characteristics that will be part of the parking network deployed in the points where a greater need for parking is detected, such as those located in the San Lorenzo Avenue, in the new City Hall, in the Antonia Guerrero Square, in the Athletics Stadium and in the Chess Square.
