The Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos will host the Provincial Chess Championship for Minors, U-8 to U-16

The Championship will be held from January 27 to 28, with the participation of 16 clubs from all over the province.

The Estepona City Council informs that the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos of the city will host on January 27 and 28 the Provincial Chess Championship for Minors (U-8 to U-16), organized by the Villa de Estepona Chess Club (CAVE), together with the Andalusian Chess Federation, and the Malaga delegation, which has included this tournament in its official calendar of competitions, and with the collaboration of the Estepona consistory.

Registrations will be made through GEFE (federated management) in “Tournament Registration” – “Malaga Provincial Championship Sub-“, until Thursday January 25, with a total capacity of 150 players.

The registered players must be federated through the Chess Delegation of Malaga, with a valid license for the season 2024, and not exceed the age corresponding to each category.

System and pace of play: Swiss pairing system, according to VEGACHESS program to 6 rounds, and Pace U-8: 20’+10″ / U-10 to U-16: 50’+10″.

The champions of each category will be awarded with a scholarship to participate in the Andalusian Championship.
