José Antonio Marina, one of the most outstanding intellectuals of our country, will participate on April 10 in a meeting at the Mirador del Carmen.

The journalist Francisco Reyero will be in charge of moderating the meeting, which will be free of charge and will start at 8:00 pm.

The City Council of Estepona reports that the philosopher and educator José Antonio Marina will participate next Wednesday, April 10, at 20.00 hours, in a meeting with readers to be held at the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center and will be moderated by journalist Francisco Reyero.

Born in Toledo, José Antonio Marina defines himself as a “philosopher on the street, private researcher, dancer in the world of ideas, seduced by the creative intelligence, guide in the jungle of language, social critic, philosopher, writer, high school teacher, Ah! and a wonderful horticulturist.

Professor of philosophy, Doctor Honoris Causa by the Polytechnic University of Valencia, his research work has focused on the study of intelligence and especially the mechanisms of artistic creativity (especially in the area of language), scientific, technological and economic.

A contributor to the media and lecturer, his extensive work has received numerous awards, including the Humanist Thought Award 2023. Marina has managed to break the academic corsets and bring to the general public a different way of understanding life, becoming one of the most prominent intellectuals of our country.

The author has just published the book ‘Historia universal de las soluciones’, in which he mixes philosophy, history and psychology to come up with an objective science of solutions. “This book emerges from a doubt: where do politicians learn to fulfill their task, that is, to solve society’s problems? How should the politician’s education be? Where do they learn to facilitate “public happiness”, as the Enlightenment used to say, that forgotten and noble meaning of politics as a means to solve conflicts and which is the foundation of ethics”.

The meeting with the readers on Wednesday, April 10 in Estepona will be moderated by Francisco Reyero, a journalist with a long professional career in which he has worked for newspapers such as La Razón. He currently directs and presents the cultural program ‘El Flexo’ on Canal Sur Radio. He is also the author of titles such as ‘Rafael de Paula: Dicen de ti’, ‘Sinatra: Nunca volveré a ese maldito país’ or ‘Eastwood: Desde que mi nombre me defiende’.
