The Casa de Las Tejerinas will host the pictorial exhibition ‘Forms and Backgrounds’ by the Russian artist Elena Done, who lives in Estepona.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on Thursday, June 6, at 6:00 p.m. and will be open to the public until June 19.

The Estepona Town Hall informs that Room 1 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host a new exhibition of paintings by the Russian artist, based in Estepona, Elena Done.

The opening of the exhibition, which consists of 27 works of medium and large format made in oils on canvas and gouache on paper, will take place on Thursday June 6 at 18.00. It is entitled ‘Forms and backgrounds’.

The individual exhibition of this artist can be visited until June 19 from Tuesday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with free access.

Elena Done (Lena), (Russia, 1973) began her artistic journey at the age of twelve at the State Art School, but did not continue with either the BFA or the MFA at that time. Later she studied Psychology at the University and delved into hypnotherapy and psychosynthesis.

In 2019 he graduated from the Moscow State Academic Art Institute and joined the Moscow Artists’ Union. His move to the Costa del Sol that same year marked a turning point. This transition from Eastern Europe to the West, from the North to the South, from a bustling metropolis to a quiet village, triggered a profound transformation in her artistic identity and language. Immersed in a multinational expatriate community, she expanded her visual vocabulary, experimented with contemporary art and absorbed the rich artistic heritage of Andalusia. Done’s artistic approach, often featuring abstract and decorative figures and techniques, reflects her academic training, her fascination with Andalusian history and her exploration of contemporary trends.

His first exhibition at Casa de Las Tejerinas was in 2002, with the show ‘Marvelous Realism’. In 2023, he joined the Association of Visual Artists of Malaga (APLAMA).
