The City Council will activate the lifeguard and surveillance service on the beaches of Estepona on the 15th of next month.

It will be provided in La Rada, El Cristo, El Padrón, El Saladillo and Arroyo Vaquero, from 12:00 to 20:00 hours until September 14.
Likewise, an assisted bathing service for people with reduced mobility will be set up in La Rada and El Cristo.

Estepona City Council will activate next June 15 the rescue and surveillance service on the beaches of the municipality, specifically in La Rada, El Cristo, El Padron, El Saladillo and Arroyo Vaquero, from Mexico Street to Arroyo En Medio, the busiest of the municipality.

The service will be provided from June 15 to September 14, uninterrupted, for 8 hours a day, from 12.00 to 20.00 hours, from Monday to Sunday.

The device includes surveillance of bathing areas in order to address any incidents that occur, search, rescue, rescue, evacuation of victims of the aquatic environment, in addition to informing citizens of possible risks arising from bathing, advise on the respective precautions of the same and report on the prohibitions contained in the Ordinance of Use and Enjoyment of the Beaches of Estepona.

In addition, it extends to the municipal swimming pools of the Santo Tomás de Aquino sports complex. In this enclosure, the service of surveillance and lifeguarding will be made in schedule from 12.00 to 19.00 hours, Monday to Friday; and from 11.00 to 20.00 hours, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

In the case of the beaches, the device will have about thirty staff. Specifically, La Rada will have 8 aquatic lifeguards and 4 terrestrial; El Cristo, with 3 aquatic lifeguards and 1 terrestrial; El Padrón, with 2 aquatic lifeguards and 1 terrestrial; Arroyo Vaquero, 2 aquatic lifeguards and 1 terrestrial; and El Saladillo, with 2 aquatic lifeguards and 1 terrestrial.

In addition, the lifeguard service has at its disposal an ambulance with a medical transport technician, a lifeguard and a nurse, as well as a rescue boat with skipper and a lifeguard.

The company in charge of the surveillance service will also provide the beach modules with sanitary material such as first aid kits, defibrillators, cervical collars and all the necessary utensils.

Also this season will offer daily assisted bathing service for people with reduced mobility. This activity, which is free of charge, is also available until September 14, from 12:00 to 20:00. It will be located in La Rada and El Cristo.

In order to reinforce safety on the beaches, a Risk Assessment Plan is prepared for each beach and the corresponding operational plan for the entire bathing season. All this, in collaboration with the competent public order services.
