A total of 240 swimmers participated on Sunday in the Virgen del Carmen Coronada Swimming Crossing in Estepona.

The eighth edition, with four races, was held on the beach of La Rada.

The Estepona City Council reports that last Sunday was held at the Playa de la Rada the eighth edition of the Virgen del Carmen Coronada Swimming Crossing, in which a total of 240 participants took part for the 4 tests, of which 25 are members of the Estepona Swimming Club.

The classification of the winners was as follows:

– Andrea Gonzalez, overall champion 300 meters

– Daniel Lomena, overall Champion 600 meters

– Emma Moreno, overall champion 600 meters

– Susana Ungo, overall Champion 1,400 meters

– Pablo Vallecillo, overall champion 1,400 meters

– Jara García Cantero, overall champion 2.600 meters

– Nacho Gaitán, overall champion 2,600 meters.

He highlighted the great acceptance of the reincorporation of a medium race in the adult category. Last year only a long race was proposed, and this year the 1,400 meter race was a great success. In spite of the west wind, all the participants were eager to swim, finish the races and enjoy the sea. Once again, good spirits and camaraderie reigned among all the participants. Normally, the Benjamins are the ones who most participate in this crossing, although the weekend were competing in the Andalusian Championship Benjamín.

The organization is grateful for the assistance to the personalities who presented the medals and trophies: Luis Miguel Gil, Councillor for Sports; Aurora Braceo, Youth Queen Virgen del Carmen 2024; and Javier Diaz, from the company Copo-Frigo.

The Swimming Crossing Virgen del Carmen Coronada is organized by the Swimming Club Estepona CNE, with the collaboration of the City of Estepona, and maintains its objective of promoting swimming and especially motivate residents to participate in their activities, both popular and federative.

The test, of solidarity in collaboration with the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Carmen Coronada, collected non-perishable food that will go to Caritas Parroquial del Carmen.
