Serafín Zubiri and the Municipal Band of Estepona remember the most emblematic songs of the 70’s in a concert at the Plaza del Ajedrez.

El Baúl de los 70′ will take place this Sunday, August 25, at 21.00 hours, under the direction of maestro José Antonio López Camacho, artistic director of the Municipal Band of Estepona.

The season of ‘Summer Concerts’ of the Municipal Band of Estepona concludes this weekend with a luxury closure: a joint performance of the musical formation and the singer Serafin Zubiri, in which they will pay tribute to the music of the decade of the 70s of the last century. The concert, with free admission, will take place on Sunday, starting at 9.00 p.m., at the Plaza del Ajedrez.

Under the title ‘El Baúl de los 70’, Serafín Zubiri will perform the most emblematic and representative songs of the 70s with the accompaniment of the Municipal Band of Estepona, under the musical direction of maestro José Antonio López Camacho.

The musical event is organized by the Estepona Town Hall with the collaboration of the public water company Acosol. Acosol’s participation is framed in the acts of promotion of its 30th anniversary, and will serve to raise awareness in the defense of efficient consumption and saving drinking water.

The cycle ‘Summer Concerts’ of the Estepona Band is part of the fifteenth season of the formation under the direction and artistic direction of the maestro José Antonio López Camacho, and this year has included seven free performances with the interpretation of a total of more than fifty works including pasodobles, soundtracks of television series and films, great classical and musical works, zarzuelas or popular music.

The origin of the Estepona Band dates back to 1940, performing uninterruptedly since then, making it one of the oldest band formations in the country. On its 75th anniversary the City Council awarded it the Gold Medal of the City.
