The pianist María Icíar Serrano will perform at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center with the concert ‘Fantasías y sonatas’.
It will take place on Friday, September 27 with free access until full capacity is reached.
The Estepona City Council informs that the prestigious pianist María Icíar Serrano will perform next Friday, September 27, at 8.30 pm at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center, the piano concert ‘Fantasías y Sonatas’, intended for all audiences.
The sonatas are a clear testimony to the talent and musical brilliance of Mozart who, for his melodic creativity and great virtuosity and beauty, is able to captivate the listener showing a great mastery of the compositional techniques of his time, explain the organizers.
For their part, the fantasias are a faithful image of Mozart’s improvisatory qualities, as well as providing thematic material in the romantic style, in the manner of Beethoven.
María Icíar Serrano Quiñones began her musical studies in Bilbao, continuing them years later in Valladolid, where she finished her piano studies with the best grades, obtaining a Matriculation and Honorary Prize in the subject of Repentization, Improvisation and Accompaniment.
She graduated in Solfeggio, Music Theory, Transposition and Accompaniment at the Conservatorio Superior de Salamanca, and obtained the title of Professor of Harmony, Counterpoint, Composition and Instrumentation at the Conservatorio Arturo Soria (Madrid), and the same title of Professor at the Liceu de Barcelona. She attended for five consecutive years the rehearsals of the OSCYL in Valladolid as a composition student at the Conservatorio Superior de Salamanca.
She has received piano lessons from professors Miguel Frechilla del Rey, Pedro Zuloaga, Pedro Gómez, Manuel Carra and Jorge Leyt. Her composition teachers include Alejandro Yagüe, Benet Casablancas and Víctor Estapé.
With a degree in education from the UNED, she recently obtained the DEA with distinction, specializing in Curricular Innovation, within the Department of Didactics of Music. Her articles on topics related to music pedagogy can be found in the digital magazines: Docente XXI, Timonel, Andaluciaeduca and the Revista Digital de la JCYL.
