The Estepona City Council and the Estepona Athletics Club today presented the official T-shirt of the XI Urban Race 10 KM ‘Trophy 200th Anniversary of the National Police’, to be held on October 13.
The event was attended by the councilman attached to the delegation of Sport, Luis Miguel Gil Amores, the Commissioner of the National Police Force in Estepona, Santos Lazaro Martin, the president of the Athletics Club of Estepona, Miguel de los Santos, and the godmother of the event, the Estepona sailor Ana Moncada, who represented Spain in the last Olympic Games held in Paris. In addition, representatives of some of the sponsors, such as Veritas, Vithas, Toyota, Club Deportivo Las Mesas and the association Alejandro Navarro Deportista, among others, also attended the event.
Organized by the Estepona City Council and the Athletics Club, this is one of the most important sporting events in the city, which also has the attraction of running through the main sites of the municipality. This year the event will be dedicated to the National Police, which is commemorating the 200th anniversary of its founding. In this edition of the Urban Race there will be a category for members of the State Security Forces and Corps.
The Urban Race of Estepona has become one of the most popular in Andalusia for the uniqueness of its route and the good atmosphere generated among the participants. Registration for the 10 km urban race, for the 5 km race and for the Children’s Race (with different distances depending on the category), can be done online on the platform www.dorsalchip.es. The start and finish of the different races will take place at the Municipal Athletics Stadium.
As every year, the race will have a charitable character, so that the proceeds will go to the Alejandro Navarro Deportista Foundation, which works with people with spinal cord injuries, with disabilities and with various associations that serve vulnerable citizens.
