Artist Evelyn Kortum ‘e.wasserhase’ exhibits her natural art at Las Tejerinas
The opening of the exhibition ‘A million points’ will take place next Thursday, September 26, at 18.00 hours, with free access until full capacity is reached.
The Estepona Town Hall informs that Room 1 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host from next September 26, at 18.00 hours, an art exhibition of Evelyn Kortum, artist known as e.wasserhase.
The exhibition is entitled ‘A million dots’ and consists of pieces that the artist recovers from nature, such as stones or tree bark, on which she paints. She also uses other supports, such as fishermen’s nets, wooden canvases, ceramics or metal.
The exhibition can be visited until October 9, from Tuesday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with free access.
Evelyn Kortum, aka e.wasserhase, recovers natural waste, uses it as a canvas and works to achieve sustainable and unique pieces of art, using mainly acrylic paint.
Each piece is worked with love, passion and respect for its natural form. The colors and shapes chosen not only embellish the pieces, but often enhance their natural beauty. Her inspirations are varied, but mainly emanate from Aboriginal and ethnic art, shapes and often vivid colors.
Also her practice of Reiki and Tai Chi, mindfulness, meditation, yoga and psychology, define her artwork. She does not seek perfection, but rather the fluidity and integration of different shapes and colors with the naturally formed piece itself to develop creative and unique works of art. For Evelyn, painting itself is often linked to deep meditation in a world of infinite creativity and joy.
In February last year the artist exhibited her works in Tavira, Portugal, at Casa André Pilarte and at Artesis. In the East Algarve Magazine, April 2023 edition, for which she was interviewed, she is listed as ‘Artist of the Month’. In May 2023, she exhibited at Casa das Tejerinas the exhibition ‘El viaje de mi alma’, composed of pieces recovered from natural waste.
