Bar ‘La Esquina del Arte’ and Chiringuito ‘Plata Beach’, winners of the contest of the XIV Ruta de la Tapa ‘Saborea Estepona’ 2025

The ‘Carrilleras caramelizadas con patata cremosa y Poit’ tapa was chosen as the best by the majority of customers, while a professional jury chose the ‘Carpaccio de Presa Ibérica’ tapa.

The Estepona City Council reports that the establishments ‘La Esquina del Arte’ and ‘Plata Beach’ have won the ‘Best Tapa’ contest of the XIV Ruta de la Tapa ‘Saborea Estepona’, framed in the event ‘Estepona Vive sus Calles’ held last weekend.

The tapa of ‘Carrilleras caramelized with creamy potato and Poit’ prepared by the bar ‘La Esquina del Arte’ has been chosen in this edition by the majority of customers, while the ‘Carpaccio de Presa Ibérica’ prepared by the beach bar ‘Plata Beach’ was chosen by professionals Lourdes Muñoz, Andalusia Gastronomy Award 2020 and commercial director of the Dani Garcia Group; Jacinto Castillo, director of the events company One 2 One; and Manuel Balanzino, gastronomic consultant and creator of the newspaper The Gourmet Journal.

Both establishments will be recognized by the Consistory with an allusive plaque, in addition to a cash prize of 1,000 euros for each of them.

In the contest, framed in the event ‘Estepona lives its streets’, have participated a total of 32 establishments in the town and the suburbs.

In addition to voting for their favorite tapa, customers who have visited a minimum of five establishments in this gastronomic tour have participated in the draw for numerous prizes, including hotel nights, spa circuits, concert tickets, small appliances or dining experiences, among others. As a novelty, a jury of gastronomy professionals joined the contest to choose the best tapa.

The Councillor for Culture and Festivals, Macarena Diánez, thanked the collaborating companies, as well as bars and restaurants in the municipality that have participated in the Ruta de la Tapa ‘Saborea Estepona’, so that citizens “check the excellence of local cuisine,” as well as the large number of public participants.
