Cadets and pre-benjamins of the Municipal Basketball School, champions and runners-up of the Educational League of the Provincial Council of Malaga.
The Soccer and Basketball Schools bid farewell yesterday to the 2023/24 season at the Auditorium of the supramunicipal entity.
Estepona City Council reports that yesterday was held in the Edgar Neville Auditorium of the Diputación de Málaga the gala ‘Sports Schools Basketball Diputación de Málaga 2024’, in which the cadets and prebenjamines of the Municipal School of Basketball collected their trophies as champions and runners-up of the Educational League.
The Educational Football and Basketball Leagues of the Provincial Council closed the 2023-2024 season, which has been held from November to June, in which more than 4,300 schoolchildren aged 5 to 15 years from 66 municipalities in the province have participated.
As for the Educational Basketball League, it brought together 1,300 schoolchildren from 24 municipalities. It was a round-robin league with three groups, the final phase of which was played on June 9. In addition, the Christmas Tournament was held on December 27 and the White Week Tournament on March 2.
The champions of the League, who have collected their trophies during the gala, have been Frigiliana in prebenjamín, Villanueva de la Concepción in benjamín, Frigiliana in Alevín, Ronda in infantile and Estepona in cadet. To this title is added the group of Estepona in prebenjamín category, which won the title of runner-up.
The Municipal Basketball Sports School collected both trophies in the presence of the councilor and provincial deputy, Salome Hidalgo, who attended the gala.
In addition, the Provincial Council and the Andalusian Basketball Federation have recognized the CB Unicaja Malaga and CAB Estepona for the season 2023-2024.
