Cine-Club screens ‘Almas en pena’ at the Centro Cultural Padre Manuel in original version

The Estepona City Council informs that the Cine-Club of the municipal delegation of Culture continues the winter cycle with the screening of ‘Almas en pena’ (The Banshees of Inisherin), a co-production of UK, Ireland and the United States of 2022 with script and direction by Martin McDonagh, starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, along with Kerry Condon and Barry Keoghan, among others.

The screening will be on Thursday, February 22, at 8:00 p.m., at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center, in the original version in English with Spanish subtitles, with free admission until full capacity is reached.

Synopsis: Set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland in 1923, it tells the story of two lifelong friends, Pádraic and Colm, who find themselves at an impasse when Colm abruptly ends their friendship.

A stunned Pádraic, with only his sister Siobhán and simple Dominic to understand, struggles to rebuild the relationship, refusing to accept his longtime friend’s refusals. When Colm makes a desperate ultimatum to Pádraic, the events are precipitated and provoke traumatic consequences.
