Estepona City Council announces the V Outdoor Speed Painting Contest ‘Estepona, Garden of the Costa del Sol’.
The artists must create a pictorial work of landscapes or corners of the city in a period of approximately four hours. A jury composed of people of recognized prestige will choose the two winning works that will receive a prize of 600 and 300 euros, respectively.
The Estepona City Council reports that next Saturday, May 10, will be held the V Outdoor Speed Painting Contest ‘Estepona, Garden of the Costa del Sol’. The councilman attached to the area of Historical Heritage, Daniel Garcia, has indicated that this contest will again reward the best paintings inspired by the city of Estepona. Participants may make their paintings from the artistic style they consider in any enclave of their choice, perfectly identifiable within the municipality of Estepona. The uniqueness of the test will be that they must execute their work in a period of approximately four hours.
The contest will begin at 9 am and the works must be delivered before 14 hours. The jury will be composed of people of recognized prestige in the artistic field. A representative of the City Council will act as secretary, with voice but without vote. The jury’s decision will be made public at approximately 2:30 p.m. and will be final. Then, will proceed to the awards ceremony which will be 600 euros for the winner and 300 euros for the runner-up.
The municipal responsible has explained that, although the technique used will be free, the pictorial support must be rigid and have a size of 50 x 70 centimeters. The frames or supports on which to work will be sealed by the organization the same day of the contest, from 8:45 am at the Casa de Las Tejerinas. Each participant may seal a maximum of two supports, but may only submit one work to the contest. They must be provided with everything they may need for the execution of the work.
At the time of sealing, the participant must submit a completed annex found in the rules of the contest, which can be consulted at www.estepona.es The winning works will become part of the artistic collection of the City Council of Estepona. On the other hand, the Consistory will select several participating works to be exhibited in an exhibition that will take place from May 13 to 24 at the Casa de Las Tejerinas. The municipal responsible has invited those interested in art to walk the streets of the city that day because they will have the opportunity to enjoy the whole creative process involved in a pictorial work.
