Estepona hosts this weekend a new basketball tournament of the highest level: the Viajes Azul Marino 2025 Women’s Andalusia Cup.

The Andalusian Basketball Federation has designated Estepona as the venue for the tournament, which this season has a new format with three participating teams: CAB Estepona, Unicaja and CB Sevilla.
The City Council of Estepona reports that the town will host this weekend a new basketball tournament at the highest level: the Women’s Andalusia Cup Viajes Azul Marino 2025, which this season premieres format with three participating teams: CAB Estepona, Unicaja and CB Sevilla.
The Polideportivo Cubierto de La Lobilla will be the stage chosen for the closing of the preseason of CAB Estepona, which will seek to celebrate a victory before the start of the LF Endesa on October 4. It will be with the dispute of the Andalusia Cup, which after a year returns to Estepona in a new format that will face in a semifinal the two teams of LF Challenge, CB Sevilla Femenino and Unicaja SD, to see who will dispute the title to the highest representative of Andalusian women’s basketball.
The event will be played on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September, a week before the CFL teams start their official season and with two weeks of margin with respect to the official start of the Estepona team, in the Pavilion of La Lobilla, which will host this tournament for the first time. Thus, the CAB Estepona will seek to become the team with more Andalusian titles in history, now that currently shares taking into account the celebration of this tournament at all levels and in all its years of history.
The presentation of the event, at the Malaga headquarters of Grand Azul Marino, which was attended by the Councillor for Sports of Estepona, Luis Gil, and the vice president of CAB Estepona, Sebastian Gonzalez, was also attended by the vice president of the Spanish Basketball Federation and president of the Andalusian Federation, Antonio de Torres; the delegate of the FAB in Cordoba, Inmaculada Coba; the vice president of the Andalusian Basketball Federation and provincial delegate in Malaga, Ricardo Bandrés, the director of Úbico Sports, Alberto Martínez; the territorial delegate of Tourism, Culture and Sport in Malaga, Carlos García; Arantxa Fernández as director of the Operations Department of Úbico Sports and Marta Fernández as representation of Unicaja SD.
“Public entities must continue to support sport and in this case women’s sport”, said Luis Gil, as representative of the municipal corporation of Estepona, who invited everyone to the city of the Costa del Sol to experience “what is sure to be a great Andalusia Cup”.
The schedule of matches will be as follows:
Saturday 20, at 12:30 pm: Unicaja SD vs. Club Baloncesto Sevilla Fem.
Sunday 21, at 12:30 pm: CAB Estepona vs. Winner Previa
