Estepona Vive sus Calles’ celebrates from tomorrow its autumn edition with Los Secretos, DJ ‘El Pulpo’, a gastronomic fair, children’s attractions and the Latin Culture Day.

The event, which takes place from October 10 to 12, includes a dozen cultural activities; the celebration of the First Octopus Fair, organized by José María Téllez ‘Popi’; musical performances; a pasodoble contest; and the copla of Roberto Aragón.
The Terraza street will host the exhibition of the Sevillian artist Manuel León, recognized worldwide.
Estepona is getting ready to host from tomorrow Friday and throughout the weekend a new edition of the event ‘Estepona lives its streets’. In its autumn version, this activity has a wide program of events ranging from live music to theater, exhibitions, children’s attractions, food, music competitions, dance exhibitions, DJ concert or theme party. The aim of this massive event, which has had a great impact and participation in previous editions, is to offer cultural and leisure activities for all audiences in different parts of the city, for the enjoyment of residents and visitors.
Estepona lives its streets’ will run from 10 to 12 October and will start with the opening, on Friday evening, at 19.00 pm on Terraza Street, of the outdoor exhibition ‘The procession goes inside’, by the Sevillian artist Manuel Leon. The exhibition consists of 17 totems printed with images of the creative work of this painter with international recognition, and who counts among his best known admirers the footballer Sergio Ramos. Manuel León is today one of the most outstanding names in contemporary painting in our country, and has exhibited in museums and contemporary art galleries all over the world.
The program of activities also includes a space for gastronomy, with the celebration of the first edition of the Octopus Fair, an initiative promoted by the Consistory, in collaboration with José María Téllez ‘Popi’, in which local establishments will bring together the best sample of fish, mollusks and crustaceans and, of course, octopus. It can be visited from 10 to 12, from 12.00 to 22.00 hours, in Calle Real.
As for shows, the event includes the concert of the choir ‘Love to sing’ to benefit the Cudeca Foundation, on Friday at 18:00 hours in the Mirador del Carmen; and the performance of the Malaga swing-jazz band, ‘The Unsustainable Big Band’, at 20:00 hours in the Parque El Calvario.
Also tomorrow Friday you can enjoy a party for the youngest of the hand of DJ Carlos Moreno ‘El Pulpo’, adopted son of Estepona, with electronic music, dance, sports, gifts and lots of fun through his show ‘PARAPA Madness’. It will be from 21:00 hours, in the outdoor area of the Mirador del Carmen.
For the little ones, a big party is scheduled in the Plaza García Caparrós with giant games, fairground games, inflatable attractions, sports and classic games, workshops, and much more. It will take place on Saturday, from 12.00 to 18.00 hours.
As part of the program ‘Sharing Cultures’, aimed at promoting the integration and participation of foreign residents, from 12:00 hours on Saturday 11 will be held in the outdoor area of the Mirador del Carmen the Day of Latin Culture. Until 23.00 hours, representatives of various Latin countries with resident population in Estepona will present their customs, traditional festivals and gastronomic culture.
Dance, theater and music
On Saturday afternoon, at 18:00 hours, the students of the School of Dance and Acrobatics Ocean, directed by sisters Laura and Sara Perea, will offer a dance show on Terraza Street; and 20:00 hours, the Benavente Theatre will perform the comedy ‘Vis a Vis in Hawaii’ in the Plaza del Reloj.
And finally, on Saturday from 22:00 hours, in the Plaza del Ajedrez, there will be a free concert by the group led by Alvaro Urquijo, ‘Los Secretos’, one of the most influential and beloved bands of the Spanish music scene, which stops in Estepona in its extensive tour throughout the country.
The program on Sunday 12 will begin with a pasodoble contest with live music by the Metropolis Orchestra, from 12.00 am in Plaza Antonia Guerrero, and will continue with a concert by the string quartet ‘Con Brío’ in the Plaza Manilva at 13.00 hours.
The finale of ‘Estepona Vive sus Calles en Otoño’ will be the well-known artist from Estepona Roberto Aragon, with a concert tribute to the copla, accompanied by the artist also from Estepona, Miguel Salas. It will be at 19:00 pm, in the Plaza del Reloj.
