La Lobilla sports center to host the traditional Winterkendo 2024 seminar

From January 19 to 21, the best athletes of this discipline, as well as national and international masters, will gather together

Estepona City Council reports that the Polideportivo Cubierto de La Lobilla will host the weekend of January 19 to 21 the traditional Winterkendo, a Winter Kendo Seminar, which includes competition practices and grade exams up to 5th Dan, the town being the only place in Spain in which this test is convened.

In this event, organized by the Club Shion Dojo Kendo Malaga Malaga Estepona, with the collaboration of the City Council, will participate numerous practitioners of this discipline (Kendo is a martial martial art that collects fencing techniques for Japanese sword), duly federated.

Also, international masters and national Kendo masters who have participated in previous editions, such as Markus Frey (7th Dan Kyoshi), Mikko Salonen (7th Dan Kyoshi), Kai Markus Lyyrtö (7th Dan Renshi), Emilio Gómez (7th Dan Kyoshi), Antonio Gutiérrez (7th Dan Kyoshi) and Santiago Peydró (7th Dan Renshi).

Registrations can be made until January 12 at http://www.shion-dojo.es/inscripcion-curso/. Prices range from 15 euros for children under 15 years, and 35 euros one day of attendance, and 50 euros for three days.

The schedule is as follows:

Friday 19:

10.00 to 13.00 hours (Kata and Kihon/Waza practice).

17.00 to 19.00 hours (Kihon/Waza and Keiko).

Saturday 20th:

09.30 to 12.00 (exam preparation) and 12.30 hours, grade exams.

15.30 to 18.00 (Shiai practice) and 18.00 to 18.50 hours, Keiko.

Sunday 21:

10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., Kion/Waza and Keiko.
