La Mari de Chambao presents her book ‘En la cresta del ahora’ at the Centro Cultural Mirador del Carmen
The event, organized by the Unicorn Association in collaboration with the City Council, will take place on the 20th, at 7.30 p.m., with free access.
The Estepona City Council informs that the Library of Contemporary Cultures of the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center will host next Friday, December 20, the presentation of the book ‘En la cresta del ahora’, by the Malaga artist Maria del Mar Rodriguez, known as La Mari of the group Chambao. The event, organized by the Unicorn Association with the collaboration of the City of Estepona, will be free admission until full capacity. It will start at 19.30 hours.
In the course of a talk-colloquium moderated by Isabel Lopez, president of the Unicorn Association, La Mari will reveal the ins and outs of her latest book, published by Alienta Editorial Planeta, a guide to the practice of mindfulness, to learn to live in the moment, for self-knowledge and self-care. From her own personal experience, the artist goes through her lights and shadows; her falls and rebirths; but, what is more important, she offers the reader keys and tools to overcome adversities, all with the background of what she has lived and her training in disciplines such as yoga, neurolinguistic programming, coaching or emotional intelligence. It will be an opportunity to get to know first hand the writing facet of this artist who has been giving away her talent on stage for years.
The literary presentation is part of the philosophy of the Unicornio Association, which is summarized in enjoying culture and being a loudspeaker and platform for artists of all disciplines, supporting with special affection the creators of our land.
It is worth remembering that, during the 25 years in which the Unicorn Association has organized the International Fantastic Film Week of the Costa del Sol, has delivered the ‘Unicorn of Honor’ Award to personalities such as Christopher Lee, Mick Garris, Terele Pávez, Silvia Tortosa or Ramón Langa, among others. At the close of the film festival, the association has decided to continue rewarding the work, enthusiasm, effort, career and talent of artists from all disciplines who enhance the world of culture, with the creation of the ‘Unicorn Award’, whose list of winners will be premiered by La Mari. The collective will take the opportunity to grant her this recognition for her long and successful musical career and her contribution to the world of culture, being a reference at national and international level.
