More than 600 athletes participated in the XI Urban Race 10 KM ‘Trofeo 200º Aniversario de la Policía Nacional’.
Kristofer Laas and Irene Alcaide win the absolute race.
The victories in the 5 KM were for Lucas Plaza and Eugenia Deyanira Rivera.
The Estepona City Council reports that more than 600 athletes participated on Sunday in the XI Urban Race 10 KM ‘Trophy 200th Anniversary of the National Police’, organized by the Consistory and the Athletics Club of Estepona.
The runners Kristofer Laas and Irene Alcaide were the winners of the absolute race (10 km.) in the male and female categories, respectively; and Lucas Plaza and Eugenia Deyanira Rivera, in the 5 KM race, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Las Mesas Sports Center.
This year the race was dedicated to the National Police, which is commemorating the 200th anniversary of its foundation, and was sponsored by the Estepona sailor Ana Moncada, who represented Spain in the last Olympic Games, and who also ran the 5 KM race.
It is worth mentioning the charitable nature of the event, so that the proceeds from the Junior Race, in which 250 runners participated, will go to the Alejandro Navarro Sportsman Foundation, which works with people with spinal cord injuries, with disabilities and with various associations that serve vulnerable citizens.
