More than half a thousand people participate in the 9th Cities Race against Pancreatic Cancer
All proceeds will go to the research of this disease.
The Estepona City Council reports that more than half a thousand people participated yesterday, Sunday, in the IX Cities Race against Pancreatic Cancer.
All proceeds from the registration of this solidarity race, which had a popular route of six kilometers, will go to the Spanish Association of Pancreatology (AESPANC) and the Spanish Association of Gastroentereology (AEG), which represent doctors and researchers specializing in the study and management of pancreatic diseases.
Estepona has been the only Andalusian city and one of six Spanish cities, along with Madrid, Barcelona, Alicante,Tarragona and Vila Martín de Valdeorras (Ourense), in which this solidarity event, which began in 2015, is held, and which aims to raise awareness in society of the importance of this type of cancer and to raise funds to continue research against this disease.
The race has been jointly organized by the Pancreatic Cancer Association (ACANPAN), which represents patients affected by this tumor, and the Estepona City Council. It is also promoted by the Spanish Association of Pancreatology (AESPANC) and the Spanish Association of Gastroentereology (AEG), which represents doctors and researchers specialized in the study and management of pancreatic diseases.
The Estepona City Council is pleased to collaborate in the organization of this charity event of the Pancreatic Cancer Association (ACANPAN), while thanking all those who have contributed their grain of sand so that research on this disease can continue.
