More than twenty companies bid for the construction of the new section of the coastal corridor in the area of Benamara
The new route will have a length of 839 meters and will connect El Saladilllo with the Dos Hermanas urbanization. The city already has more than 90% of the coastal strip connected by these pedestrian paths.
The Estepona Town Hall informs that a total of 22 companies have submitted bids for the construction of the new section of the coastal corridor that will extend this pedestrian path to the Benamara area. This is the section that will connect the walks already planned in El Saladillo (with works already awarded) and, on the east side, in the urbanization Dos Hermanas.
The objective of this action, which has been put out to tender with a base price of 1.2 million euros (VAT included), is to give continuity to the pedestrian itinerary and increase the accessible length of the promenade in the area. In this sense, it has been planned to act on a beachfront front of approximately 839 meters long in the Benamara area. The works include the creation of a printed concrete pedestrian path along its entire length, with a width of three meters.
The intervention allows to recover for public use, for pedestrian, bicycle and light vehicles, a longitudinal strip along the entire beachfront of the action.
The execution period for this work, once the contract has been awarded and signed, is estimated at six months. This new section continues to shape the coastal corridor project in Estepona, which is more than 90% completed.
After the actions carried out in recent months, the City Council has already reached more than 21 kilometers of constructed coastal corridor, being very close to reaching the end of this sustainable and high impact project for the city, which has meant preserving the coastline and adding value and enabling a new tourist attraction. The municipal forecast is that the pending sections will be completed before the end of the year.
