Presentation of the book of poems “Poemas en el tiempo”, by Pilar Laura Martínez de la Puerta.

The event will take place on Wednesday, December 10, at 6:00 p.m., in the Alfonso Gil Alfonso Hall of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, and will be presented by the writer Pedro Villarejo.
The City Council of Estepona informs that next Wednesday, December 10, at 18.00 hours, the Alfonso Gil Alfonso Hall of the Casa de Las Tejerinas will host the presentation of the book “Poems in time” by the writer Pilar Laura Martinez de la Puerta, in an event that will be presented by Pedro Villarejo.
Through this collection of poems, the author expresses the emotions that have marked different moments of her life, with the purpose of sharing feelings and ideas in which any reader can be reflected. The poems address topics such as personal experiences, the role of women, love for the land, the teaching vocation and the importance of an honest look at oneself. All with a clear objective: to elevate culture and encourage the connection between one’s own experiences and those of others.
Biography of the author
Pilar Laura Martínez de la Puerta was born in Jaén, in the bosom of a family dedicated to teaching, which awakened in her from a very young age the pedagogical vocation. She studied Bachillerato Superior and Magisterio, obtaining the title of Maestra de Primera Enseñanza. After occupying her first position in Jaén, in 1969 she requested a transfer to Manilva, where she worked until the 1976/77 academic year. Subsequently, she was permanently assigned to the CEIP Santo Tomás de Aquino in Estepona, where she taught until her retirement.
She was a precursor of the project “Grandparents in the classroom”, an initiative that she promoted during the last fifteen years of her career and that brought the experience and memory of the elderly to the school environment. Mother of five children and grandmother of five grandchildren, the author has always combined her teaching vocation with an intense participation in cultural activities. She has been a finalist and winner in several national short story and poetry contests.
After her retirement, she has continued to expand her dedication to writing. She has published two novels: Tú serás la que vengas a buscarme (2013) and El Placer del Poder (2023). “Poemas en el tiempo” is his new literary incursion, a book that gathers his poetic sensibility and his vital look.
