The Cancelada Fair will feature the performances of Melody, José ‘El Francés’ and El Capullo de Jerez.

The festivities, which will offer more than twenty activities aimed at all audiences, will begin this Thursday with the opening speech by Rafael Montesinos Rubio and will last until Sunday.

The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, and the deputy mayor of the area Extrarradio, Begoña Ortiz, today presented the program that has made the City Council on the occasion of the Fair and Festival of the Estepona neighborhood of Cancelada, which will run from Thursday to Sunday.

The mayor stressed that these celebrations are highly anticipated and appreciated by the Esteponeros and visitors, so the Consistory has worked to make this fair “the best in the history of Cancelada by the careful organization, the many new features to be presented and the quality of the artists who will perform. Highlights in the concert lineup of Melody, José ‘El Frances’ and El Capullo de Jerez, among others. All performances are free. García Urbano stressed that the government team “will continue to support with a significant budget this party that our neighbors enjoy so much.

For its part, the deputy mayor of Extrarradio area, Begoña Ortiz, has highlighted the varied program of activities, more than twenty, which will be aimed at audiences of all ages. The mayor has reported that the fair will begin on Thursday, at 21.00 hours, with the proclamation that this year will offer the former mayor of Estepona and local businessman Rafael Montesinos Rubio. The event will feature a performance by Ana Guerrero, from ‘Solo Flamenco’. It will take place in the Plaza José Vázquez Espinosa. Then proceed to the ribbon cutting and the inauguration of the lighting, to later enjoy the live music of the Velada Orchestra. At 00.30 hours will open to the younger audience the Youth Booth, which will feature the best current music to enjoy the four days of the fair.

On Friday, the activities will begin at 12.30 pm with a children’s circus in the Plaza de la Juventud; also for the little ones, from 15.00 to 19.00 hours, free inflatables will be offered in the Plaza del Consultorio. At 14.30 hours will proceed to the opening of the Day Fair, at 16.00 hours will be the trophy ceremony of the Football Tournament, and at 17.30 hours will be the concert of ‘Spoticai’ in the Plaza José Vázquez Espinosa. This same day will also be held a snack for the elderly, at 19.00 pm, in the same square. From 22.00 hours the Velada Orchestra will be responsible for animating the night fair, which will culminate at 23.30 hours with a concert by Melody.

On Saturday the fun will continue with a water party at 12.30 p.m. at the Free Wave Sports Center. From 15.00 to 19.00 hours there will be inflatables in the Plaza del Consultorio, and at 14.00 hours will be held the traditional paella by the master paella maker Angel Utrera, which can be tasted for free. It will be enlivened by live music of all times of ‘Grupo Latidos’. Finally, from 17.30 hours will begin musical performances with ‘South Basement’ in the Plaza José Vázquez Espinosa. At 22.00 hours will be the turn of the Orchestra Velada in the Official Booth, and at 23.30 hours will put the finishing touch to this day the concert of José ‘El Francés’.

Already on Sunday, the last day of festivities, at 10.30 am will be officiated a rociera mass in honor of the Virgin of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The mass will be accompanied by the rociero choir of the Brotherhood of El Rocío de Estepona. After the Eucharist, there will be the procession of the image of the Virgin on the shoulders of the women of the neighborhood, accompanied by the Veracruz Musical Group.

From 12.30 pm, in Montemayor Street, will be held as a novelty this year the I Contest Ataviado a la Andaluza tribute to the horseman José Gillibert, held in collaboration with the Peña Caballista ‘Amigos del caballo’ and directed by Rafael García Parrado.

The inflatable attractions for children will continue from 15.00 to 19.00 hours, and with the concert ‘Alejados’, at 17.30 hours. In the evening the Velada Orchestra will perform at 22.00 hours and at 23.00 hours will come the performance of great singer El Capullo de Jerez.
