The Casa de las Tejerinas will host the exhibition of paintings by the artist María Jesús Palacios.

The exhibition will be open to the public from Thursday, September 19 to October 2 with free access.

The Estepona City Council informs that Room 2 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host from next Thursday, September 19, at 18.00 hours, an exhibition of paintings by the artist Maria Jesus Palacios.

The exhibition, entitled ‘Autumn Concert’, consists of 20 paintings, acrylics on board, and on board and gold leaf. It can be visited until October 2, from Tuesday to Friday, from 09.00 to 20.00 hours, and Saturdays from 09.00 to 14.00 and from 16.00 to 20.00 hours, with free access.

María Jesús Palacios was born in Madrid on December 30, 1958. She never studied Fine Arts, she would have liked to but could not be despite feeling an inordinate passion for painting. It was when she already had three children that she attended her first painting studio in Madrid. Destiny took her to Buñol. The long walks in the countryside with her dog and her son’s asthma led her to give up oil painting and switch to acrylics. The serenity of maturity and the freedom of solitude completely changed her style, the way of expressing and what to express.

The contemplation of nature, seeing day by day the changes of seasons, the relaxation of exercise, great conversations with other women, are what inspire her paintings, where acrylic has found the perfect space. In each painting she shares those sensations, stories, the arrival of dragonflies or swallows, pink skies that announce winds, the everyday and unnoticed. “I only hope that the viewer knows how to capture those same sensations,” says the artist.

From 2009 to the present she has shown her work on more than a dozen occasions, either individually or collectively, in places such as Buñol, Requena, Játiva, Madrid, Osuna or Cheste, among others.
