The City Council and the Alliance Française de Malaga launch new courses to promote the teaching of French in the city
The Consistory cedes the facilities of the Padre Manuel Cultural Center so that, for the eighth consecutive year, these internationally recognized degrees can be taught.
The Estepona City Council and the Alliance Française de Malaga inform that, for the eighth consecutive year, they will continue to promote the teaching of the French language in the city through courses, workshops and cultural activities. Since this collaboration between the Consistory and the educational organization was launched, more than 800 students have received training in French in the municipality.
The next courses for adults will be held from October 4 to February 1, and until June for children (4 to 11 years old) and adolescents (11 to 16 years old). The adult courses will have two classes per week, and the children and juniors will have one class per week. All classes have a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The classroom teaching will take place at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center, a space provided by the Consistory to facilitate the teaching of languages in the city.
Likewise, the Alliance Française will also continue to offer this course the option of online teaching, using a platform that allows classes to continue to be taught with the dynamics that are usually worked in the classroom. Online classes have many advantages and allow you to work with new tools to propose new activities, with the ease of carrying them out from home.
For those who want to practice French for fun and keep in touch with the language, conversation classes are also offered.
At the time of enrollment, there are several possibilities of discounts: loyalty discount of 25 euros for a second or third consecutive enrollment in annual, four-month and/or intensive courses; and a discount for family and friends of 25 euros each if the student enrolls with a family member or recommends a friend.
In addition, for the fifth consecutive year, the Alliance Française will continue to offer courses at IES Mediterráneo to prepare students for official exams. This offer is developed in this center during the 2024/2025 course as an extracurricular activity reserved only for students of the institute, although the Alliance Française hopes to promote this educational action to other institutes in future courses.
Also, at the end of September, the official DELF and DALF exams for adults will be launched, and at the end of October, the DELF Junior exams for ESO and Baccalaureate students.
The next exams will be held in February, and specialized courses are offered as exam preparation workshops (from November to February) that focus on the exam methodology and allow students to practice the four required competencies with mock exams and simulations. A DELF/DALF examiner teacher, certified by the French Ministry of Education, will be available for this purpose.
These diplomas are internationally recognized and allow the assessment of French skills, both academic and professional, for all non-French speakers who wish to have their level of French officially recognized. Thus, candidates have the opportunity to take the exam in Estepona. We remind you that the Alliance Française is the only examination center for these exams in the whole province of Malaga.
On the other hand, the Alliance Française will continue to organize events in the city to spread the French-speaking culture. Among the most immediate activities is the resumption of free monthly screenings of films in French at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center.
There will also be other cultural events throughout the year of which they will be informing through their social networks and on the Whatsapp channel reserved for the dissemination of information on cultural events.
