The City Council of Estepona informs that next October 24 is celebrated the Day of Libraries, under the slogan ‘For a sustainable future’. On this occasion it has organized for Sunday 27th the free performance of ‘The Lost Library’, a magical theatrical work for the promotion of reading. It will take place at 6 p.m. in the Felipe VI Auditorium. The Magician Puk presents this show full of charm, where the little ones will enjoy his creative and imaginative power and the grown-ups will be immersed in an ocean of beauty.

Invitations can be picked up from Monday 21 at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center, from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00.

Synopsis: Rodolfo works in a theater company doing maintenance work. After sweeping and scrubbing the stage, he leaves everything ready for a Children’s Theater performance. But the actors do not arrive and the audience waits with uncertainty for the performance. Rodolfo gets nervous, and asks the audience to let him tell them that play, ‘The Lost Library’, a legend that has been told for generations but nobody knows about it… or maybe they do?

The kids will try to decipher a code to open the chest where a secret legend has been waiting for more than 50 years. Will they be able to know the legend that has never been told?

Since 1997, every October 24, Libraries Day has been commemorated, an initiative of the Spanish Association of Friends of Children’s and Young People’s Books, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sport, in memory of the destruction of the Sarajevo Library, burned down in 1992 during the Balkan War. This initiative was born to convey to public opinion the importance of the library as a meeting place for readers of all ages with culture, and as an instrument for improving education and human coexistence.
