The City Council deploys municipal brigades for cleaning and repairing roads affected by the storm

Work has begun on the beaches to remove plastics and garbage washed away by rivers and streams.
The City Council of Estepona has activated a special device for cleaning and repair of roads and river and stream crossings that have been affected by heavy rains. To do this, it has deployed troops from the Municipal Operational Brigades, who are working in the area of Cala Alta, where landslides have been recorded. They are also intervening in the four passes of Guadalobón, and the two of the Monterroso river. The machines are removing the accumulated earth to subsequently repair the damage to the roads, which will facilitate the mobility of the residents living in these affected areas.
The cleaning and repair work, which will be carried out according to the most urgent needs, will continue in the coming days, once the flow of rivers and streams decreases.
Similarly, cleaning tasks have begun on the beaches, where a large amount of garbage and reeds have accumulated. The workers are removing plastic debris, to proceed, later, to the removal of plant debris by machinery, although it will be necessary to wait for the flow of water carried by rivers and streams.
The City Council has also reopened the parks of the municipality, which were closed as a preventive measure last Saturday due to the forecast of heavy rainfall.
