The City Council has tripled its activity with citizens in the last five years through its electronic headquarters.

During 2025, a total of 43,533 procedures were handled. Documentation, applications, licenses, certificates of registration or declarations of responsibility are among the most requested procedures.

During 2025, the Estepona City Council has processed a total of 43,533 procedures of citizens who have used the electronic office to process their files. The figure represents a significant increase over previous years, since the number of procedures has tripled in the last five years. The electronic headquarters of the Estepona City Council is constantly evolving, so that in recent years have been incorporating procedures and, today, virtually all the steps that can have a citizen with the local government can be done electronically.

By municipal departments, the highest number of registrations has been in Statistics, through certifications, with 10,254 registrations; followed by Licenses (5,903), Commerce (2,949), Registrations (2,434) or Opening Licenses, with 2,236.

As for the procedures most requested by citizens, there were the submission of documentation (11,996), registration certificates (8,452), general requests (6,513), inscriptions in the municipal census (862), responsible declarations (695), or applications for participation in public employment selection processes. The registrations of third parties and/or contributions of payment documents (527), the requests for urban information (465) or the licenses of better work (360) have been other of the most numerous procedures.

The deputy mayor of the Economic Area, Ana Vilaseca, stressed that more and more residents are using this tool to carry out formalities with the local administration in a quick and easy way. In the last five years, these telematic procedures have tripled. He has also emphasized the work developed in recent years to incorporate procedures that can be carried out from home or office by the interested parties through the electronic identification and signature system, which has resulted in a streamlining of the files.

The catalog of the electronic headquarters exceeds one hundred available actions, from the application for certificates of registration, to licenses for minor works, through urban planning and urban management, authorization of occupation of public roads, change of ownership of activity, consumer claims, authorization for the celebration of sports activities, grant applications, payment of taxes or access to the video minutes of plenary sessions.

With the implementation of the Electronic Administration and the Electronic Headquarters, the Consistory has made in the last years a rigorous and ambitious bet to bring new technologies to the neighbors so that they can relate with the local administration in a simple way and with all the guarantees.
