The City Council increases the investment budget with another 7.7 million euros for new projects and improvements in the municipality.

The Consistory will bring to the next plenary session the incorporation of funds from the 2024 surplus for the remodeling of the Juanito Valderrama, Estandarte and Colón squares, and the Fuerzas Armadas neighborhood.
It also contemplates the construction of the velodrome, a new asphalt plan and the rescue of private parking to incorporate it into the municipal network of 1 euro during the day.
Estepona City Council will increase this year’s budget for investments to address new projects and improvements throughout the municipality. To do this, it will bring to the next plenary session an extension of the municipal accounts that will allow the incorporation of 7.7 million euros from the surplus of the 2024 exercise.
Specifically, part of these new credits will be allocated to a comprehensive plan of remodeling and infrastructure that will allow to meet throughout the year the needs of improvement works that may arise in public infrastructure throughout the municipality. In addition, several major actions have been planned in neighborhoods such as those contemplated for the Juanito Valderrama, Estandarte and Colón squares, as well as the remodeling and urbanization of the Plaza Fuerzas Armadas.
This increase in the investment budget also allows to face long-awaited projects such as the construction of the velodrome or the beginning of the procedures for the new Guadalmina river path, while the private parking lots will be rescued, which will be integrated into the Municipal Parking Network with a cost of 1 euro during the day.
The conservation and rehabilitation of municipal buildings and a new asphalting plan are other actions to which new funds will be allocated.
The 2024 budget settlement has stood out for having yielded the best economic data in Estepona’s last decades, with a record surplus of 45.63 million euros and a budget stability of 24.04 million euros. Since the 2015 budget settlement, the accounts of the Estepona City Council have all economic magnitudes in green. The municipal government team understands that this economic bonanza must revert to the citizens of Estepona as a whole, further influencing the productive investment policies that have been generating so much development in the city.
Specifically, this budget expansion is intended to enhance the works and maintenance of the different districts and neighborhoods of Estepona, as well as providing the city with new major projects.
