The City Council intensifies the cleaning of the beaches due to the storm and removes more than 2,500 cubic meters of reeds.

Work has already been carried out on more than half of the coastline, specifically on the beaches of La Rada, El Cristo, Guadalobón, Arena Beach, Costa Natura, Arroyo Vaquero, Bahía Dorada and La Galera.
The City Council of Estepona is intensifying the cleaning tasks along the coast and has removed more than 2,500 cubic meters of reeds, which have been dragged to the beaches by the continuous rainstorms that the city is suffering.
The work of the municipal brigade of Beaches is focusing both on the beaches of the town and the suburbs. Thus, for the moment, has acted in more than half of the coast, specifically on the beaches of La Rada, El Cristo, Guadalobón, Arena Beach, Costa Natura, Arroyo Vaquero, Bahia Dorada and La Galera. On the other hand, this week has begun cleaning the beaches of the eastern area.
These tasks are having as main difficulty the continuous appearance of debris due to the flooding of rivers and streams and heavy rainfall that have been happening, hence the work has been intensified. In addition, due to the significant flow of water that has been reaching the mouths, as well as the volume of sediments and reeds that drag, it is difficult to access certain points until the water level has dropped.
A total of 13 beach workers are participating in these tasks, supported by three tractors, a truck, a trailer, an excavator and two buggies. All the material being removed from the coastline is being loaded onto trucks for transfer to the waste treatment center.
This work will continue over the next few days as long as the storms persist.
