The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, has ratified the commitment of the government team with people and with the promotion of measures to facilitate access to housing for groups with more difficulties.
In this regard, he regretted that the previous left-wing governments in the city sold all the municipal land for this type of housing to the developers of the developments of the partial plans, leaving the city without public land on which to build subsidized housing. Thus, he explained that “in the first opportunity he had since he was mayor to obtain land for VPO, the transfer of the same was made to enable the construction of 100 VPOs that were executed in the area of Juan Benitez, and were delivered this year to their owners.
In this sense, has expressed the commitment to continue promoting the procurement of plots for this type of housing in all new land to be developed urbanistically. In fact, the City Council is currently working in the upper area of the Monterroso River to obtain new plots for this purpose.
Also, García Urbano stressed “social sensitivity” that has had the government team of the City of Estepona with the needs of citizens and vulnerable groups and stressed that “has been and will remain a priority in the management that no one has unattended their basic needs. Therefore, among other measures, has referred to the unlimited nature that has been granted to the economic item of social emergency aid from the municipal budget.
