The City Council processes the call for 24 civil servant vacancies for different posts

They correspond to the Public Employment Offer of 2025, and among them are vacancies for Local Police, senior architect, civil engineer, industrial engineer, agronomist and draftsman.

The Public Employment Offer of 2026 will include positions for administrative staff.

The Estepona City Council is finalizing the procedures for the various calls to fill new positions for career civil servants, included in the Public Employment Offer of the Consistory for 2025. Among the vacancies offered to strengthen certain areas of the Consistory are different positions: Local Police, civil engineers, industrial and agronomist, senior architect, and draftsman. In total, 24 vacancies.

The calls are in different phases, depending on the position. In the case of the new Local Police positions, there are two already in progress in the phase of publication of lists of admitted and excluded applicants. One of them, for the provision as career civil servants, of eight Local Police positions, seven for the free shift and one for mobility, classified in the Basic scale of Special Administration, subscale of Special Services, category of Police of the Local Police Corps. The second one, for the provision also as career civil servants of nine Local Police positions, eight by free shift and one by mobility, in the same scale and subscale as the first one.

Pending publication are the calls for the remaining vacancies. Specifically, two architect positions, corresponding to subgroup A1, by the open competition system (1 of them for the disability group). The bases have already been published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Malaga (BOPMA), and is awaiting publication in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) and the Official State Gazette (BOE) for the opening of the period for submission of applications.

In a similar situation is the call for the selective process for the provision as career civil servant of two positions of engineer of roads, canals and ports corresponding to the subgroup A1, by the open competition system (1 of them for disability group).

On the other hand, the General Negotiation Board has already approved the bases that will govern three other calls to fill a position of industrial engineer, a position of agronomist engineer, and a position of draughtsman. The different calls will be published in the different official gazettes, as well as on the City Council’s website, and the deadline for submitting applications will open once the call is published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).

In parallel, the City Council has called for this year 3 other positions of sub-inspector and one more of inspector of Local Police, whose selection processes are already under development.

The City Council has been working since 2011 in procedures to meet the staffing needs in various municipal departments, especially the Local Police. More than 60 agents have joined the police force during this period.

The 2026 municipal budget foresees opening new calls for employment next year, which in this case will be directed to the scale of administrative staff.
