The City Council will undertake the redevelopment and improvement of the main roads in Cancelada.

The project, to be executed in phases, will improve Mirador, Marqués del Duero and Montemayor streets.
The Estepona City Council is preparing an important redevelopment and improvement project for three of the main roads in the Cancelada neighborhood. It is an intervention that will be carried out in phases and will involve the remodeling of Mirador, Marqués del Duero and Montemayor streets.
The Consistory already has the projects of the three actions, for which the contracting of the works will be opened in the coming days. The initiative follows the path of the improvement works that are being carried out on roads in the urban fabric of Estepona, modifying its design to adapt its design to more accessible roads, while replacing and modernizing infrastructure and services.
In this way, the needs of each of the roads covered by this project will be addressed and, subsequently, the pedestrian and traffic spaces will be rearranged. In addition to the new paving, the planned works include the renovation of the supply, drainage, rainwater and lighting networks of the streets and their connections with the adjacent ones.
The work has been programmed in phases, so that the works in each of them do not coincide with the rest, and includes in phase 1 the enlargement and sidewalk works on Mirador Avenue, the redevelopment of Marqués del Duero in phase 2, and the redevelopment of Montemayor in phase 3.
The City Council has opted for a joint contracting of the works to the same company but in a phased manner, so that the execution of the second or third work does not begin until the previous one has been completed in its entirety and the End of Work Certificate has been issued, so that each road can fulfill its function of passage and service.
The total budget for the three phases has been initially set at 3.4 million euros (including VAT), pending the most advantageous offers that may be submitted once the bidding process has been opened. The execution period has been estimated at 4 months for the first phase and 8 months for each of the following two phases.
