The Estepona City Council collaborates with 10,000 euros in the organization of the XLVIII edition of the 24 Hours of Sports

The event will take place this weekend in different municipal facilities and will involve more than 6,500 athletes in 60 sports modalities.
The councilman attached to the municipal delegation of Sports, Luis Gil, and the president of the 24 Hours Sports Foundation, Manuel Vallejo, today presented the XLVIII edition of this sporting and social event to be held this weekend (7 and 8 June). The activity is organized by the 24 Hours Sports Foundation and has the collaboration of the City Council.
The mayor has indicated that the Consistory will continue to collaborate one more year with this activity through a municipal grant of 10,000 euros for the organization of this event, as well as the transfer of all municipal sports facilities where competitions will take place. This grant is in addition to another 26,000 euros that the City of Estepona grants the 24 Hours Sports Foundation for the celebration of the School Games.
This great celebration of local sport will feature more than 60 sports, including competitions and exhibitions, in which more than 6,500 athletes of all ages will participate, and will bring together some 20,000 spectators. In addition, as a novelty this year is the incorporation of a new rugby modality, known as rugby flag.
On the other hand, the activities of Football 11 and Football 7 will be held in the San Fernando and Muñoz Pérez Stadiums, and the Indoor Football, in all categories, as well as the School Sports, in the tracks of the Fair and Sports Grounds.
For its part, the stage and ring installed in the Plaza del Recinto Ferial will host exhibitions of kikboxing, muay thay, rhythmic gymnastics, karate, toning, ballet maintenance, flamenco and modern dance, body combat, mills dance, zumba, fit dance, acrobatic dance, zumdance and fashion show.
During the 24 Sports Hours there will also be nautical activities, karate, clay pigeon shooting, petanque…, and there will also be tournaments of paddle tennis, judo, K-1 and amateur and professional kick boxing, adapted basketball, golf, chess, badminton, as well as angling and night fishing competitions, karting ranking, speedsoft, ultimate frisbee, table tennis, tennis, beach tennis and volleyball, among others.
