The Felipe VI Auditorium, the scenic reference of the Costa del Sol, celebrates its tenth anniversary with a thousand of activities held

The space, with a surface area of 5,500 square meters and 600 seats, is one of the major facilities built since 2011 as part of the municipal government’s firm commitment to culture.
The City Council of Estepona reports that the Felipe VI Auditorium has completed a decade since its commissioning, becoming a stage space of reference with more than a thousand activities held. The center, with 600 seats and a stage of 225 square meters, has been one of the most important municipal facilities built by the current government team, in its firm commitment to the development of culture and to provide the municipality with a large space for the performing arts, music and culture.
Music, theater, meetings of social groups, congresses or the most important institutional events of the City Council itself are just some of the activities that during the last decade have had the auditorium as a stage, thus strengthening its link with the city. Its dimensions, capacity to host large events and a continuous quality programming have made the opening of the Auditorium Theater a before and after in the cultural offer of the city, being its opening, in March 2015, a milestone for the municipality, where until then there was no space dedicated to the performing arts of these characteristics.
In addition to the main hall, the auditorium has another secondary hall with folding bleachers and additional capacity for a hundred people. The building is also prepared for the celebration of large congresses. Its versatility has led it to be considered a reference on the Costa del Sol.
The Felipe VI Auditorium Theater will soon enter a new stage. The City Council has put out to tender the management of the space to continue offering a varied and quality cultural program. The new concessionaire will be responsible for exploiting this facility for leisure and culture for the next three years.
The bidding specifications state that the program will include, among others, stage shows such as theater, dance, comedies, zarzuelas, operas and others; musical shows such as concerts or recitals; training activities; film screenings; and activities in the congress sector.
