The Felipe VI Auditorium will host the XXIII Proclamation and Extraordinary Christmas Concert ‘Poetry and Music at Christmas’.
It will take place next Saturday 14, at 8:00 p.m., with free admission until full capacity is reached, prior collection of invitations at the 24 Horas Deportivas Foundation.
The councilor attached to the delegation of Culture and Festivities, Macarena Diánez; and the honorary president of the 24 Hours Sports Foundation, José López, have announced that next Saturday, December 14, at 20:00 hours, will take place in the Auditorium Felipe VI the reading of the XXIII Christmas Proclamation and the traditional Extraordinary Christmas Concert ‘Poetry and Music at Christmas’.
The municipal responsible has reported that the evening will feature the historian and writer José María Guerrero Estepona, who will be in charge of the Proclamation, and the Municipal Band, which will enliven the evening with the accompaniment of the Magnum Mysterium Choir of Estepona, the blind tenor Miguel Machado Orozco, the harpist Bgigitta Kovács and the Choir of Atlas American School of Malaga.
Also, the mayor has highlighted “the hard work and affection with which the 24 Hours Sports Foundation has organized for 21 years this special event with which we welcome Christmas”.
For his part, the honorary president of the Foundation, José López, has reported on the development of the event that will begin with the interpretation of the piece ‘Christmas Fantasy’ by Satoshi Yagisawa, under the baton of the conductor and artistic director of the Municipal Band, Maestro José Antonio López Camacho, to give way to the Christmas Proclamation, by the historian José María Guerrero Esteponero.
After the Christmas proclamation, will begin the extraordinary concert of the Municipal Band, whose program includes ‘Nessun dorma’, the aria of the final act of the opera Turandot, by Giacomo Puccini, on the occasion of the commemoration of the centenary of the death of the Italian composer (22 December 1858-29 November 1924). This emblematic piece, which reflects the determination and longing of the main character, Prince Calaf, who has fallen in love with the cold princess Turandot, will be performed by soloist Miguel Machado Orozco.

José María Guerrero, historian, writer, expert in cultural management and heritage projects, intimately linked to the cultural transformation of Estepona, where he has assumed political and technical responsibilities for more than five years, is an active member of civil society. He participates in media such as the newspaper La Vanguardia or the magazine Cariátide, as well as in radio programs in our city, Manilva, Málaga, Casares or Madrid, where he is a regular contributor. Member of the Poetic Movement of Estepona, the Xeb-Alhamar Theatrical Group or the association of historical reenactors ‘Manzanares Estepona 1831’, among other platforms, is a lover of tradition and cultural heritage of this land, whose name takes to numerous forums throughout the Spanish geography.
Miguel Machado Orozco is a light lyric tenor (Granada 1996). Blind from birth, an example of self-improvement, he studies singing, vocal technique and modern languages. Since his debut in September 2021, he shares the beauty of music with all audiences, in general, walking through the Andalusian geography usually accompanied by his pianist, Salvador Fajardo Villalba.
