The García Fajer Foundation presents a concert of film soundtracks by the prestigious string quartet ‘Parallel Quartet’.

The concert ‘Greatest Hits of Cinema’ will be held next Sunday, August 31, at 21:00, Plaza del Reloj, with free access.
Estepona City Council informs that the García Fajer Foundation will present next Sunday, August 31, at 21:00 hours, in the Plaza del Reloj, the string quartet Parallel Quartet, formed by Alfredo Ancillo, violin; Laura Hidalgo, violin; Fatima Poblete, viola; and Stamen Nikolov, cello.
The prestigious string quartet Parallel Quartet invites us to relive the emotions of cinema through a careful selection of soundtracks. Melodies that have accompanied unforgettable stories on the big screen are transformed into an intimate, elegant and enveloping experience, in a tribute to film music from the warmth and expressiveness of string instruments.
Parallel Quartet is a string quartet born in 2023 in Madrid. Its members seek, through this formation, to make disruptive musical proposals that connect with the present, with special interest in avant-garde music and new creation.
They have been invited to festivals such as Interlaken Classics 2025 (Switzerland), Clásicos en Verano de la Comunidad de Madrid, playing in its presentation, Sulayr Clásica (Granada), where they shared the stage with Bernard Gregor-Smith, cellist of the legendary Lindsay Quartet. They have also performed in venues such as the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid, Auditorio BBVA, Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, Museo de las Colecciones Reales, German Embassy, Fundación Carlos de Amberes.
Composers such as Wim Zwaag have dedicated works to them, such as his quartets n.1 and n.2, and Luis Fonseca with Dychotomies.
Its members have been trained in some of the main musical institutions of the country and Europe as the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig, Escuela Superior Reina Sofía and the Centro Superior Katarina Gurska; in which they have been able to develop with the components of several of the main chamber music ensembles such as: Alban Berg Quartett, Hagen Quartett, Cuarteto Quiroga and Kopelman Quartet.
They have been selected by Patrimonio Nacional to play within the cycle with the Stradivarius of the Royal Palace of Madrid within the season 2025/26. Parallel Quartet receives the support of the Goethe Foundation.
