The Estepona City Council reports that the Three Wise Men will distribute 16,000 kilos of candy and more than 3,000 balls during the Grand Parade that will travel the streets of the city next Monday, January 5.
The procession that will accompany Their Majesties Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar will consist of 12 floats and 5 parades with fantastic characters, which will entertain the little ones, and a group of Bedouins. The parade will be enlivened by the music of the pastoral of Estepona ‘Nostalgia Navideña’ and ‘Jesus Cautivo’, the Municipal Band, the Banda Union Musical Vera + Cruz and the Musical Association Virgen de Los Remedios.
The parade of the Three Kings will start at 17:00 hours from City Hall to continue along Avenida Juan Carlos I, Avenida Andalucía, Avenida España and Terraza Street to reach the Botanical Orchid Park. There, around 20:00 hours, Their Majesties will collect letters from children.
The Councillor for Festivities, Macarena Diánez, stressed that the Three Kings Parade “is one of the most special and anticipated days of the year, especially for the children of Estepona, who live this day with a unique illusion”. In this sense, he stressed that the City Council works for months “with great dedication and affection so that everything is taken care of in detail and so that the parade becomes an unforgettable memory for the little ones and their families”.
Diánez explained that this year the parade will have a very visual and attractive theme for children, with floats and parades inspired by the world of superheroes and princesses, “characters that are part of the imagination of children and fill the streets of fantasy, color and fun throughout the tour. He also noted that the floats of Their Majesties the Magi will be inspired by Asia, “as a nod to the oriental origin of Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar, providing an exotic and special touch that will further enhance the magic of the parade”.
He also recalled that on Monday, from 11.30 am, a children’s party will be held at the Fair, Sports and Leisure Park to welcome the Three Kings. The event will be enlivened by the magician Ruben and his show ‘Magic Christmas’. The arrival of the Three Wise Men is scheduled around 13:00 hours.
On the other hand, in the town of Cancelada, the Three Wise Men parade will start its route at 17.00 hours from the Mayor’s Office, in Montemayor street, to continue along La Vaguada street, Loma de Retamar road, Quevedo street, Marqués del Duero avenue, Familia Romero street, Paraíso street, Revuelta street, Marqués del Duero avenue and ends in Plaza de la Juventud, where Their Majesties the Three Wise Men will deliver gifts to the children. The councilor of the suburbs, Begoña Ortiz, said that during the parade will be distributed candy, balls and toys.
The Royal Postman will be in the Auditorium
Prior to the parades, the Royal Postman will collect the letters addressed to the Three Kings tomorrow, Saturday, January 3, from 17:00 to 20:00 hours, in the lobby of the Auditorium.
As for security measures taken by the Consistory for this event, the tour will have a device composed of Local Police officers, members of the National Police (CNP), Civil Protection, Emergency Services and Firefighters.
The Estepona City Council thanks the companies in the area for their collaboration in donating the candies that will be distributed during the parade, and encourages all citizens to participate and enjoy the parade.
