The Local Police of Estepona will give a course on operational verification of documents.

Agent José Luis Maldonado Troya, one of the leading specialists in false documentation, will be the instructor of an internal training course that will also include the participation of the National Police and the Civil Guard.

The Estepona City Council informs that the Local Police has started today a course of operational verification of documents, aimed at strengthening police training in the detection of fraudulent documentation and operational action in both administrative and criminal. This is an internal training course of the Local Police, although members of the National Police and the Civil Guard have been invited to participate, in order to enhance coordination and exchange of knowledge between bodies. This training will be extended until the end of March so that the largest number of agents can participate in it.

The course will be given by the Local Police of Estepona, José Luis Maldonado Troya, recognized as one of the greatest specialists in false documentation in Spain. Maldonado has given training at the Civil Guard Academy and in numerous local police forces throughout the country, establishing himself as a reference in this field.

The training is structured in six modules ranging from legal and technical fundamentals to the practical application in real controls and judicial intervention.

The basic level modules will review the regulations governing travel and traffic documents and will introduce the most common security elements in documents and tickets, as well as the systems and media used in their preparation. We will also work with basic technical equipment for the detection of forgeries and the preparation of expert reports.

In the intermediate level modules, training will focus on the identification and verification of physical documents according to their country of origin, following the “touch, turn and look” methodology, and on the practical application of vehicle controls. Exercises will be carried out with real examples of police interventions, both in the administrative and criminal fields, including techniques for full identification through triangulation and analysis of identification elements.

In the advanced level modules, the course will deal with the use of open sources on the Internet to contrast documentary information, using technological tools and legal resources to verify identity data and administrative situations. The last block will be dedicated to the actions of the police officer before the complaints office and the court, with guidelines for correctly writing reports and presenting facts and evidence in a clear and procedurally correct manner.
