The mayor attends the presentation of the CAB Estepona senior women’s team that will compete for the fourth year in the LF Challenge.
The councilman was accompanied by the vice-president of CAB Estepona, Sebastián González and the ten members of the team, as well as the rest of the coaching staff.
The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, today attended the presentation of the senior women’s team of CAB Estepona that will play for the fourth year the LG Challenge, the second category of national basketball. The event was also attended by the vice president of CAB Estepona, Sebastian Gonzalez, the ten members of the team and coaching staff.
The mayor has highlighted the high level of the team and the quality of its players, “which will undoubtedly lead them to achieve important successes in this sporting season”. In addition, he recalled that one more year the Estepona team will wear on their shirts the brand ‘Estepona, Garden of the Costa del Sol’ “, thus carrying the name of the city throughout the national territory.
It has also put in value the important work carried out by the CAB Estepona in promoting basketball at all ages and the big bet it has made for professional basketball, currently with a team in the Women’s League Challenge and another in the National Women’s League. Although the most important thing, according to García Urbano, is its involvement in the life of the city, being a sports entity collaborating with municipal activity and promoting important values such as promoting equality in sport.
To conclude, the mayor has reiterated the intention of the Consistory to continue supporting and collaborating with this club through the free transfer of quality facilities such as the pavilions of La Lobilla, El Carmen and J.A Pineda, so that its more than 30 teams can continue to develop their sports practice, continuing with their training and formation.
