The Mayor of Estepona participates in the audience of His Majesty the King to the Governing Board of the FEMP
The meeting with the members of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), on the occasion of its 40th anniversary, took place at the Zarzuela Palace.
The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, participated today in the audience of His Majesty the King to the Governing Board of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), on the occasion of its 40th anniversary. The meeting took place at the Zarzuela Palace.
The alderman has pointed out that “it has been an honor to participate in this meeting with the monarch, where he has encouraged us to continue working for the citizens from the closest Administration”. “His figure symbolizes the unity of Spain and is the guarantor of the Spanish Constitution. We thank him for his closeness, his empathy and his service to Spain,” he added.
FEMP is the Association of Local Entities of state-wide scope with greater implantation, that groups City Councils, Deputations, Councils and Island Councils, in total 7.410, that represent more than 95% of the Spanish Local Governments.
The foundational and statutory purposes of the FEMP are: the promotion and defense of the autonomy of Local Bodies; the representation and defense of the general interests of Local Bodies before other Public Administrations and the development and consolidation of the European spirit in the local sphere, based on autonomy and solidarity among Local Bodies, among others.
