The mayor’s office of Cancelada celebrates a new free Crochet Workshop

Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m., and this edition will include making decorations to decorate the neighborhood during the fair period.
The mayor’s office of Cancelada has begun classes of its successful Crochet Workshop, offered free of charge by the City Council in collaboration with the neighborhood association of this neighborhood.
The deputy mayor of Extrarradio area, Begoña Ortiz, has announced that this edition as it is already a tradition, students will make ornaments of different shapes and colors that will be used to decorate the streets of this neighborhood during the fair period.
As stated by the mayor, this workshop is very successful and every day more and more neighbors are interested in participating in it. In addition, the ornaments that weave are becoming more elaborate and better quality. Thus, she recalled that in other calls participants in the workshop made a crochet awning, which is used during the summer to provide shade, and Christmas knitted Christmas ornaments with which they decorated different corners of the neighborhood and one of the largest Christmas trees in Andalusia, 12 meters high and more than a thousand applications.
Also, the councilor has highlighted the great merit that these women have and has valued the benefits of knitting and crocheting, as it increases self-esteem and sense of wellbeing. In addition, practicing it changes the mood, makes you happier and stimulates cognition, especially when done in social settings.
