The Municipal Sports Schools of Estepona start the 2025/2026 academic year with more than 2,000 registrations

Ninety-five percent of the places offered have been filled. The activity season will run until mid-June 2026.

The Estepona City Council reports that a total of 2,050 people have started this Monday their sports practices in the Municipal Sports Schools (EDM) programmed by the Municipal Sports Delegation.

For the course 2025/26, 24 sports activities have been offered, resulting in a total of 2,250 places that are distributed in 131 groups of activities, led by qualified sports technicians.

Once again this year, registrations have been carried out with high participation, completing 95% of the places offered. Most of them are aimed at children and young people (Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Handball, Soccer, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Golf, Judo, Karate, Multisport, Paddle, Psychomotor skills and Tennis), and the rest are aimed at adults (Physical Activity for Seniors, Badminton, Adapted Sport, Stretching, Gymnastics Maintenance, G.A.P. (Gluteus, Abdominals, Legs), Golf, Judo, Karate, Paddle, Pilates, Step/Fitness and Fitness, and Tennis).

In this first period of the course, the schools with the highest demand are those of Padel, Pilates, Soccer and G.A.P., with 100% occupancy in all scheduled groups. It should be noted that the Badminton, Basketball, Fencing, Climbing, Paddle, Tennis and Volleyball EDMs are developed by the 24 Hours Sports Foundation.

The prices of all the activities range from 5 €/month for the Chess EDM, to 28 €/month for those enrolled in the Padel, Tennis or Climbing EDM. According to the characteristics of the activity, the groups admit between 8 and 30 people, with classes being held 1, 2 or 3 days a week, depending on the modality.

For those people who need it, the City Council subsidizes the participation in these sports activities with 50% of the public price, as long as they meet specific requirements.

Approximately 80% of these activities, directed by qualified sports technicians, are developed in the facilities of the town of Estepona, while the remaining 20% are divided between the neighborhood of Cancelada (with groups of EDM Chess, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Karate, Gymnastics Maintenance and Pilates) and urbanizations of Arroyo Vaquero and El Paraíso (with nine groups of EDM Golf).

Those interested in participating in any of the groups sold out (without places), are encouraged to register on the waiting lists to cover possible casualties.
