The students of Project ‘Observa’ enjoy a trip to Isla Magica, in recognition of their work for equality and prevention of gender violence.
The initiative is part of the II Municipal Plan against Gender Violence in which five high schools in the municipality have participated.
The Estepona City Council reports that young participants in the tenth edition of the Project ‘Observa’, aimed at students of 1st ESO, enjoyed last Saturday a trip to Isla Magica Amusement Park in Seville, as a reward for the work they develop throughout the course in favor of equality and prevention of gender violence.
After the closing of the project in the classrooms, last May, in which the results and evaluation of the project were announced and the accredited diplomas were given to the Observers Agents (figure in charge of developing the activity in the classroom along with the rest of colleagues), it remained to enjoy this day of coexistence and fun, in which the companionship between the young people of the five institutes participating in the project prevailed.
The councilor attached to the delegation of Women, Julia Simon, noted the importance of having in the city with this group of young people, “aware of the value of equality”.
The ‘Observa’ Project has been developed since 2014, framed in the II Plan of the Municipality of Estepona against Gender Violence, and is financed through the Funds of the State Pact against Violence of the Ministry of Equality, Secretary of State for Equality and against Gender Violence, whose priority objective is the awareness and prevention of gender violence at all ages, with special emphasis on children and youth.
The centers that have participated so far are IES Mar de Alborán, Mediterranean, Monterroso, Professor Tomás Hormigo and Puerta del Mar, and have renewed their subscription to the eleventh edition of the project, which will begin in November, after the technical meeting between those responsible for the IES and the City Council, held last week.
