The Traditional Sweet Christmas Gathering with a Taste of Malaga will take place on December 17 at the house of Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de Las Flores.

The aim of this event, which will take place on December 17, with the collaboration of Sabor a Málaga and Veritas stores, is to promote the Christmas traditions and pastries of the different nationalities living in the city.

The City Council of Estepona has organized another year the gastronomic-cultural event ‘Sweet Christmas Encounter with Taste of Malaga’ in collaboration with the project ‘Taste of Malaga’, which promotes the Provincial Council of Malaga and Veritas stores.

The deputy mayor of the area of Development, Infrastructure and Tourism (FIT), Ana Velasco, explained that this activity is intended to publicize the Christmas pastries of different nationalities living in the city.

Each participant will have approximately three minutes to explain the history of the Christmas dessert or cake presented, as well as some of the traditions that are maintained in their country of origin on the occasion of these holidays.

Among the countries that will participate are Argentina, Bolivia, Greece, Venezuela, Romania, Mexico, Ukraine, Poland, United Kingdom and Italy, among others.

The activity will begin at 17:30 hours and will be enlivened by the pastoral “Jesus Cautivo”. On the other hand, ‘Sabor a Málaga’ will expose to the participants the Malaga gastronomic products that are promoted through this brand and will offer a tasting of wines of the province and polvorones.

The event is open to the public who will be able to taste for free the typical Christmas sweets from different parts of the world.

This multicultural meeting is included in the project “Sharing Cultures”, whose main objective is to promote participation in the social and cultural life of Estepona citizens of foreign origin residing in the city and that today represent a third of its population, with more than 135 different nationalities.
