The Estepona City Council informs that the works for the replacement of the turf of the Muñoz Pérez Football Stadium will begin next Monday, October 14. The action, with a final budget of 185,275 euros, also includes the repair of the irrigation system, as well as the removal and subsequent placement of existing sports equipment.
Located in the extension of the Avenida Juan Carlos I, the sports complex has a total area of 20,200 square meters and within it is the soccer field, which has dimensions of 109×75 meters, approximately.
In principle, all the sports equipment and perimeter drainage gutter grids will be dismantled, then a screening and cleaning of the surface elastic load of the field will be carried out so that the filling that is in good condition can be reused, followed by the dismantling and removal of the artificial turf currently installed and the repair of 300 square meters of the elastic base. Finally, the new artificial turf will be laid, which has Fifa Quality Pro certification, the highest category on the market. The equipment and gutters will then be replaced.
The work will take about three weeks, during which time the various teams will train at the San Fernando Soccer Field and the Athletics Stadium.
All the dimensions of the 11-a-side and 7-a-side soccer fields to be installed in the Muñoz Pérez will be in accordance with the NIDE standards of the Consejo Superior de Deportes and the rules of the Real Federación Española. Likewise, the turf will have to be adapted to the existing elements of irrigation and protection net posts.
