The XII Urban Race 10 KM ‘Trofeo Reciclados Jurado’ opens registration period next Monday

The competition will take place on Sunday, October 5 and registrations can be formalized from 12:00 noon on Monday, July 14 at www.dorsalchip.es. They can also be made in person at Deportes Olimpia, Centro Deportivo Fitness y Pádel Las Mesas and Uniformes Estepona.

The councilman attached to the delegation of Sport, Luis Gil, the member of the Athletics Club Estepona, Lorenzo Andrades, and the representative of Recycled Jury, Marta Jurado, announced today that from 12.00 on Monday July 14, until October 1, is open the registration period for participation in the XII Urban Race 10 KM ‘Recycled Jury’ and 5KM ’50 anniversary IES Mar de Alborán’.

This competition, to be held on October 5 under the slogan ‘United for Sport and Recycling’, is one of the most important sporting events in the city and one of the most popular in Andalusia for the uniqueness of its route and the good atmosphere generated among participants.

In addition, as every year, the race will have a charitable character, so that the proceeds from the race for children will go to the Ubuntu Association. Likewise, participants in the children’s race will donate 1 kilo of non-perishable food that will be donated to the Comedor Social Emaús.

Registration for the 10 kilometer urban race, the 5 kilometer race and the children’s race (with different distances depending on the category) can be done online at www.dorsalchip.es, as well as in person at Deportes Olimpia (c/ Pozo de los Palos, nº 85 from 10.00 to 14.00h and from 17.30 to 21.00h), Centro Deportivo de Fitness y Pádel Las Mesas (avda. Reina Sofía, s/n, from 10.00 to 21.00h) and at Uniformes Estepona (c/ Valladolid, nº 13, from 09.30 to 14.00 h).

The fees for the Junior Race will be 5 euros, in addition to the delivery of 1 kilo of non-perishable food, and registrations can be made until 14:00 pm on October 1. In case there are free places on the day of the race, registration will cost 10 euros, and can be made in the tent set up in the starting area, until 9:30 am, half an hour before the start of the first race.

For the Absolute Race (10 km and 5 km), registration is priced at 12 euros if done by September 14 at 23:59 hours; 15 euros if done from September 15 to 28 at 14:00 hours; and 18 euros if done from Monday, September 29 to October 1 at 14:00 hours. On the day of the race, Sunday, October 5, no registrations will be made.

All athletes registered for the 10 km and 5 km races will receive a Runner’s Bag that includes a technical T-shirt, energy drinks and other gifts.

The bibs can be picked up at the Plaza de la Fuente of the Estepona Athletics Stadium, located on Avenida Juan Carlos I, from Saturday, October 4, from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00 hours; and on Sunday, October 4, from 08:00 to 08:45 hours (junior races), and from 08:00 to 10:00 hours (absolute races, 10 km and 5 km).

The schedules, categories and distances, are as follows:

Junior race:

– 09:15 hours ‘U-14 and U-16’ (1,500 m).

– 09:30 hours ‘U-12’ (800 m)

– 19:45 hours ‘U-8 and U-10’ (400 m)

5 km race

– 10:30 a.m.: Groups A (U-14 to U-18), B (U-20 to U-23), C (Senior), D (Master 35 and 40), E (Master 45 and 50) and F (Master 55 and up).

Race 10 km

– 10:30 a.m.: Under-18-20-23, Senior, Master 35-40-45-50-55-60-65-70-75, Veteran, Local Absolute and Functional Diversity.
