The City Council will allocate more than 200,000 euros in financial aid to social groups in 2025.

The mayor today chaired the annual meeting of the Local Council of Volunteering, in which the proposals and needs of non-profit associations serving the city are made known.

The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, today chaired the annual meeting of the Local Council of Volunteering, where he announced that the City Council will allocate for next year more than 200,000 euros in aid for non-profit associations and groups working in the city.

In this sense, he has indicated that the municipal budget for 2025 continues to have a strong social character and sets as one of its main objectives the attention of the most vulnerable people. In this sense, the mayor has pointed out that for the Consistory remains a “priority” to support all entities that serve groups in the city, to collaborate so that they can continue to develop their care programs to these citizens.

To this end, the economic amounts linked to aid and social programs for the most vulnerable continue to be ‘expandable items’ in case social circumstances so require.

The associations that will benefit in 2025 from these aids are: Association of Disabled of Estepona (ASDIES), Red Cross, Parkinson Sol, Estepona Solidaria, Volunteer Platform, Frente Bolillón, Multiple Sclerosis Association, Association of Relatives of Alzheimer’s Patients, Diocesan Caritas, Association of Mentally Disabled of Estepona (APRONA), Women’s Association Peñas Blancas, Cudeca, Association of Victims of Autism, Social Dining Emaus, Motoclub ‘Onde Vamos’, Foundation 24 Hours Sports and Alcoholics Rehabilitated Estepona, Association friends of cats, Alejandro Navarro Association, as well as the various brotherhoods and fraternities of the municipality.

During the meeting held today with representatives of various social groups, García Urbano has thanked them all for their efforts and altruistic work they do throughout the year to improve the quality of life of residents with more needs.

In addition to financial aid, the mayor has referred to the support provided by the Consistory in other matters, such as collaboration in solidarity events organized by these entities and the free transfer of municipal facilities for holding charity events, in addition to tax support.

Also, among other measures, the Consistory continues to pay the Telecare service and allocates more than 300,000 euros to cover the ordinary expenses (electricity, water, electricity or cleaning) of entities such as the Virgen del Carmen Nursing Home, the soup kitchen Emaus or the Association for the Mentally Handicapped of Estepona (APRONA).
